Yes, its fine to add Epsom Salt to your ice bath, there are some really good reasons why you would want to!
Espom salts are safe to use, and may have health benefits by supplementing your magnesium levels, but chloride salts (e.g., table salt, road salt) are not safe to use.
Always keep the lid on when not in use, to help prevent any debris falling in!
We recommend changing the water once per week without any additives.
When you drain the water from your Pod, to extend the life of your next fill, we recommend washing the inside surfaces with warm soapy water.
Yes you can!
If you'd like the water to last longer, using Bromine tablets or powder should extend the usable time up to 1 month.
Bromine is more skin-friendly and lasts longer than Chlorine in cold water and you'll need very little to be effective.
We've designed our bath to fit all sizes up to 2.1m tall (6' 7"), whilst minimising water and cooling requirements.
Super easy! Simply use a hose-pipe, a bucket or container, and add room temperature water. Once filled to approximately 70% full, you'll be ready for your first dip!
Later, we recommend adding ice or ice packs to reduce the temperature further. Our Pods are insulated top, bottom and sides, so will maintain the water temperature for longer than you'd expect!
Our Recovery Pod is integrated with 3x thermal insulated TPE layers, a Thermo Lid, and Rain Cover to lengthen the time at a given temperature.
We recommend deploying your Pod outside, under shade, to maximise the passive overnight cooling effect, and then adding ice or ice blocks as needed.

DO NOT USE if you are: - pregnant, have heart disease or high blood pressure, have diabetes, complications such as neuropathy or retinal damage, you wear a pacemaker, history of frostbite, have an open wound, had recent surgery, epilepsy or any other health concerns or risks.
Using an ice bath can dramatically decreases your body core temperature. The immersion in cold water constricts blood vessels and slows the flow of blood around the body, which combined with health complications, can cause your blood pressure to rise and give you a higher chance of cardiac arrest or stroke.
Side effects
The most noticeable side effect of an ice bath is feeling intense cold, but other side effects of staying in an ice bath for too long are: - hypothermia, frostbite, tachycardia (fast heart beat), arrhythmias (abnormal heart beat), allergic and anaphylactic shock.
Our recommendation
Despite the potential side effects and warnings, using an ice bath correctly actually has many health benefits! We will always recommend you begin by spending no more than a few minutes in the ice bath, and slowly working you way up to the recommended time, never push your body beyond its limits.
I have now used my recovery pod every day for 12 weeks and I love it, its the best way to start my day, it gives me clarity and helps when i increase my mileage to stop my legs aching! its really easy to use and I love it!

I bought a lumi recovery pod maybe a year ago and an all weather cover to go with it at time. I've done a handful of dips in it to date following the guild lines that come with it.
I come from a Wim Hof Method background of five years roughly on and off. Having experience of open water in skins, cold showers and cold walks the pod is a piece of cake; especially in the back garden. I find it a degree or three colder than a cold shower at 8°c without ice. I'm looking forward to adding ice in future; I've did a common ice bath years ago on a 4hr WHM workshop. It was a psychological break through at the time for me but profound in the moment.
At 6'2" and under 12st the pod is adequate enough for me. Although from time to time there are some amazing deals at lumi therapy I am happy with my pod (and it is portable)and balancing shift work, poor sleep patterns and two young children.
If I was to upgrade, I would pass on my pod to family or a friend.
Lumi therapy seems to be a great family to be part of and I have also built up my lumi accesories collection over time too knowing great times lay ahead.

Lumi recovery pod has helped me with body inflammation I've had for years, I've been using it for 2 months now and it has helped me tremendously, not only physically but mentally, I feel happy and calm. I've also had an injury in my psoas muscle for quite a while now and ice baths are helping the way nothing had helped me before
