Yes, its fine to add Epsom Salt to your ice bath, there are some really good reasons why you would want to!
Espom salts are safe to use, and may have health benefits by supplementing your magnesium levels, but chloride salts (e.g., table salt, road salt) are not safe to use.
Always keep the lid on when not in use, to help prevent any debris falling in!
We recommend changing the water once per week without any additives.
When you drain the water from your ice bath, to extend the life of your next fill, we recommend washing the inside surfaces with warm soapy water.
Yes you can!
If you'd like the water to last longer, using Bromine tablets or powder should extend the usable time up to 1 month.
Bromine is more skin-friendly and lasts longer than Chlorine in cold water and you'll need very little to be effective.
We've designed our bath to fit all sizes up to 2.1m tall (6' 7"), whilst minimising water and cooling requirements.
Super easy! Simply use a hose-pipe, a bucket or container, and add room temperature water. Once filled to approximately 70% full, you'll be ready for your first dip!
Later, we recommend adding ice or ice packs to reduce the temperature further. Our ice baths are insulated top, bottom and sides, so will maintain the water temperature for longer than you'd expect!
Both the body of the PRO barrel, and lid are insulated, all of which helps to keep the outside weather from affecting the internal water temperature.
We recommend deploying your PRO barrel outside, under shade, to maximise the passive overnight cooling effect, and then adding ice or ice blocks as needed.

DO NOT USE if you are: - pregnant, have heart disease or high blood pressure, have diabetes, complications such as neuropathy or retinal damage, you wear a pacemaker, history of frostbite, have an open wound, had recent surgery, epilepsy or any other health concerns or risks.
Using an ice bath can dramatically decreases your body core temperature. The immersion in cold water constricts blood vessels and slows the flow of blood around the body, which combined with health complications, can cause your blood pressure to rise and give you a higher chance of cardiac arrest or stroke.
Side effects
The most noticeable side effect of an ice bath is feeling intense cold, but other side effects of staying in an ice bath for too long are: - hypothermia, frostbite, tachycardia (fast heart beat), arrhythmias (abnormal heart beat), allergic and anaphylactic shock.
Our recommendation
Despite the potential side effects and warnings, using an ice bath correctly actually has many health benefits! We will always recommend you begin by spending no more than a few minutes in the ice bath, and slowly working you way up to the recommended time, never push your body beyond its limits.
Having used the first lumi pod for the first year I decided to upgrade to the pro recovery model having struggled to keep the temperature consistent when the weather gets warmer. This version is much sturdier and does a great job of keeping the temperature consistent - delighted I made the upgrade, it’s worth the additional cost.
After a brief encounter with a cheaper brand doing ice baths in the smaller tub with the inflatable
white ring that you simply can’t keep cool (you know the ones), I decided to go full ice hog with the pro barrel and mini chiller… absolute game changer! Loads of room in the pro barrel, so no excuses for not getting your ears wet and the chiller is frickin awesome. So pleased with my setu0 🥶🥶🥶👊🏼
